My year as a Drama Therapy Masters student was a challenging, but rich learning experience. The time I spent at my clinical placements was the highlight of my year. Having the chance to apply my learning, in context, at the Johannesburg Children’s Home and later at iThemba Recovery Clinic, will form a deep and strong foundation for my work in the future. This year has been a wild ride of learning, unlearning, reflecting and often forced growth, but the beacon that kept me lit was the amazing companions gained along the road. It is a certain type of spirit that because a Drama Therapist and my life has been enriched greatly by finding these wonders. (Jané Bekker)
