Dear members
I can’t believe that it’s the end of the year already. As I look back on the year, it seems crazy to remember that we were still in the grips of COVID this time last year and feeling the strain of restrictions and a long period of emotional and social turmoil.
Since then many things have normalised and I hope that for most of you, this has meant an increase in work opportunities and income.
Our face to face Exco strategic planning meeting in September stands out as a highlight this year and it gave us the opportunity to build the new leadership team that was elected at the AGM and to consolidate our shared vision for SANATA.
The launch of our first online magazine also is a significant milestone in the professional development of our profession, providing us with a platform to share the richness of what our professions have to offer to stakeholders, allies and other interested persons. Thank you to the team that worked hard to put the magazine together. We look forward to the next one and I encourage members to contribute when the next call for submissions comes out.
Another milestone was the employment of Elzaan as our online admin person. She has made a significant impact on the work of the CPD committee and has provided support to the Exco in other ways too. As our membership numbers increase, our increased income may allow for us to increase her hours to provide even more support to other committees.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the Committees that do the work of SANATA for the offering of their time and energy to the growth and development of our professions. My appreciation also extends to the members of the Exco for their commitment and support. I feel a special mention should be made of the tireless work that Tammy does in her position as the Arts Therapies member of our HPCSA Board. That we now finally have a Scope of Profession is something to really celebrate. We really appreciate you, Tammy.
And finally, to each member of SANATA, thank you for choosing to be part of this Association. We appreciate your participation and welcome your feedback. Working together we can achieve so much more.
May you all have a restful festive season.
Warmly
Michelle Booth
